1. I will commit to enrolling in a minimum of three core Pre-AP and/or AP courses as a freshman and again as a sophomore.  The core courses will be selected from English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

2. I will commit to completing a minimum of 30 college hours upon graduation from Montwood High School.

3. I will commit to completing the Distinguished Achievement High School Program.

4. I will follow the rules of Montwood High School as outlined in the Student Handbook.

5. I will meet the expectations set forth in each class.

6. I will manifest the highest degree of academic integrity.  I understand that cheating or plagiarism is grounds for immediate removal from the program.

7. In the event of an absence, I will notify the instructor of the absence as soon as possible and obtain work prior to the absence or immediately upon return from the absence.

8. If my grade in a Montwood Advanced Studies Institute (MASI) class at the end of a Nine Week grading period falls below a 50, I will be removed from that class.

9. If my grade in a MASI class at the end of a Nine Weeks grading period falls below a 70, I understand that I will be placed on academic probation for that class.  If my grade is still below a 70 at the end of the semester, I will be removed from that class.

10. A MASI Review Committee will review matters related to academics and discipline.  I understand that the MASI Review Committee will review cases before removal from a class and that I will abide by the final decision of the review committee.

The student is responsible for completing the necessary Accuplacer testing in the freshman and/or sophomore year to gain access to the dual credit courses.   The Accuplacer testing is offered on the Montwood campus in the fall semester and again in the spring semester.  Accuplacer testing information from El Paso Community College.

Final Confirmation

For students applying from the Americas, El Dorado, or Socorro High School feeder patterns, final acceptance into the MASI program is granted following a review of student attendance records, student discipline records, and student grades by our principal, Mrs. Mathews.  Parents and students will be notified of acceptance.
