For Students In the Americas, El Dorado, or Socorro Feeder Pattern:
Following receipt of the MASI program application/contract, parents can initiate the transfer process between schools in the Socorro ISD. The district transfer policy is described below.
Process for Transfers
- This involves picking up the In-District Transfer Application from the student's home school or from Lanelle Moore in the Principal's Office at Montwood.
- On the transfer application, the reason for the transfer will be Magnet/Special Program/Name of Program. Check this box and put MASI as the name of the program.
- Parents will need to have the In-District Transfer Application signed by the principal at the student's home school. However, I believe you can proceed to the next step and Mrs. Mathews will get the necessary signatures at a meeting of the high school principals.
- Ask the home school to provide Montwood with their student's academic record, an attendance report, and a discipline report. The home school can send these records to Montwood. Please follow up and check with the home school and with the Montwood staff to make sure these records have been sent by the home school and received at Montwood as there have been cases when the records get lost in transit between the schools. If the home school will release the necessary records to the parent, the parent can personally deliver the In-District Transfer Application and the records to Montwood High School.
- The In-District Transfer Application will also be signed by Mrs. Mathews, the Montwood High School principal.
