How Wind Turbines Work

Wind Power Animation

1. While touring the museum, the student will identify locations of the major oil fields in Texas. Upon returning to class, students will research the locations of the best areas for both solar and wind power in Texas.  Students will then be asked to compare the two maps.

2. While in the museum, students will research the types of changes oil instigated in Texas (in population locations and types of jobs) from 1900 to 1950, and be asked to make a prediction for the year 2000. Back in the classroom, students will research current population and job numbers and verify their predictions.
