Time: Flexible. Ideally, the PowerPoint would be shown in brief segments as appropriate.
Source: Teacher developed; download PowerPoint file
This classroom resource was created to teach water quality concepts including percentage of usable water, facts about water sources and sources of pollution including point and non-point sources, macro-invertebrates as indicators of water quality, and water parameters for chemical testing including temperature, alkalinity, nitrates, turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen and phosphates.
Tip: Teachers might want to develop a fill-in-the-blank note page so students pay attention to the PowerPoint, answering questions as they go.
