Dear STAT members,
A huge thank you goes out to all those who responded to the survey! We had an overwhelming response and I stayed up several nights to read every single one of the entries! We have very passionate educators! You will find that the statement we have sent to the Education Committee members in the House and Senate represents all of your voices combined. View it here.

One of the highlights of STAT’s Legislative Day at the Capitol will be hearing from Josh Sanderson, a lobbyist with the Association of Texas Professional Educators. Prior to his six years with ATPE, Josh worked as a legislative aide in both the Texas Senate and House of Representatives.
Mr. Sanderson will visit with STAT members during the reception Thursday, February 21 at the Wyndham Conference Center on Woodward and I-35. He will review the big picture issues at the Capitol this session, including his specialties of school finance and teacher retirement issues.
